Each time a fireplace is used soot collects on the inside of the chimney. An excess build up of soot inside a chimney will eventually cause smoke to backup and flow into your home or, worse still, start a fire inside the chimney. An inexpensive annual sweep by a professional will reduce the risk of these problems ever affecting you.

I also fit bird guards around Bedford and the Bedfordshire area,  To stop birds nesting and rain entering in to your chimney. We also supply chimney caps to seal redundant fire places that are not being used for solid or gas fires.

The ideal time to have your chimney swept is after the burning season, if you are burning with a liner installed for your stove or have a bird guard installed the soot is corrosive and can reduce the life span off your liner or bird guard.

After you chimney has been swept with brushes and cleaned with my industrial hoover, I will do a smoke test to make sure that your chimney is drawing and issue you a certificate from the institute of chimney sweeps for insurance purpose.
